About Us

Our Story

Pike City Church, formerly known as Power Source, is designed to reach out to those living in the heart of the city of Hamilton, Ohio. Our mission is to show the love of Christ by extending a helping hand to all those who are precious to God. The ministry originally started as a bus ministry in 1989 with the purchase of a van to transport the children from downtown Hamilton to Princeton Pike Church of God. Soon after, the Power Source Ministry outgrew the facility on Princeton Road and began leasing the Booker T. Washington Center to accommodate the needs of the approximately 150 to 200 people who attended on a weekly basis. The congregation of the First St. John United Church of Christ recognized the effect that the Power Source Ministry had on the community and donated their facility, located at 412 South Front Street in Hamilton, to Princeton Pike. On Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010, the Power Source Ministry began their services at the Front Street location. The gift of the First St. John facility has provided a permanent home for the ministry to continue to grow.

In July of 2023, the board of Power Source Ministries realized that we were no longer an outreach ministry, but that we were in fact a church. Our outreach had now become a church home and a safe place for many of the people and families within the community. At this point, we welcomed new pastors Luke and Michele Hill to lead us as we continued to grow. The name Power Source Ministries was then changed to Pike City Church to reflect our mission to serve as a church home to those in the heart of Hamilton.

They have created the feeling of family at Pike City and we are forever gratefully for their servant hearts!

Before coming to Pike City, Pastors Luke and Michele attended our main campus, Princeton Pike Church of God, for 14 years. Pastor Luke worked on the jail ministry team for 8 years and loved the opportunity to serve the inmates he encountered every week. Michele worked on the Janitorial team at Princeton Pike for 5 years. â€‹

Pastor Luke and Michele have been married 33 years. They raised two daughters and a son. Their son Luke is married to his wife Becca and they have two children and one on the way! Their daughter Brittany, is married to Kyle and between them, they have 4 children. Their daughter Brooke, is married to Wadson, and they have two children also! Luke and Michele love to spend time with their children and grandchildren!

Michele has held many positions over the years, the most important to her being Mom and Mammaw! In addition to handling all of the tasks at Pike City, Michele also owns her own cleaning business.  Michele volunteers her time to clean Pike City every week and does a wonderful job!

What We Believe

WE BELIEVE
•In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
•In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
•That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary.
•That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
•That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
•That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
•In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
•Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
•In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
•In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
•In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
•That healing is provided for all in the atonement.
•In the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet.
•In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
•In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
